Report

Red Bull Salzburg and Vítkovic experienced a very dramatic match in their last appearance at this year's President Cup. The Austrians took the lead in the eighth minute of the game when Tim Heimel reached for a precise shot after crossing the blue line. But Vítkovice managed to catch up early. In less than three minutes, Šimon Fasner found himself in front of Haima and passed the puck behind him. Well, when Jiří Lerch scored in the 18th minute at the end of the power play, Vítkovice went to the locker room as the leading team.

Salzburg went in search of an equaliser, but Vilém refused to let their attempts pass the goal line. During a four-on-four game, Hutzinger overcame the Ostrava goalkeeper and tied the game. After the unwanted irritation of Baumann, Vítkovice once again gained a numerical advantage. And again Lerch took advantage of this, taking advantage of the confusion in front of the goalkeeper and firing the puck behind his back.

At the beginning of the third period, Vítkovice even took a two-goal lead. Jiří Lerch was again in the power play, and he completed a clean hat trick. Salzburg was hit by indiscipline, which Vítkovice skillfully turned into goals. In the 48th minute, Muroň increased the game to 5:2 in the power play. To the fans in the mini WERK ARENA, it might seem like it's over at that moment. But Salzburg managed to pull back the three-goal lead within eight minutes thanks to goals from Haiböck, Kogler and Gesson.

The match thus reached extra time. Vítkovice dominated the three-on-three game. After just 93 seconds, Vincent Glos drove down into the circle and with a well-aimed shot decided the seventh place for Vítkovice.
