Report

HC Davos managed a great battle in the evening match and defeated the home defenders of last year's championship 3:1. From the 17th minute of the match, Oceláři had to catch up to the one-goal lead of the Swiss opponent. Kimi Körbler's goal came after a series of several promising opportunities created by the home hockey players. An inconspicuous projectile from the goalpost surprised Denis Heczko and found a place in the net. Davos' lead did not stay for long, as David Holub finished exactly after Robin Švančara's pass.

The equal status was valid until the 37th minute, when Anton Dunst threw the puck towards the goal from the blue line. The puck probably brushed against the equipment of one of the defending players or the goalkeeper himself and headed for the goal line - 1:2. Immediately, Hebar found himself in front of the Swiss goalkeeper Ruch, who replaced Gian-Andri Steinmann in the middle of the match, but he was not ready for the fresh goalkeeper from Davos. It was still really hot in front of Hezcko at the end of the second act. Niklas Aebli chose a pass instead of a shot, which the home defenders managed to pacify in cooperation with the goalkeeper.

The pursuit of an equalizer thus smoothly carried over into the third period. Oceláři created interesting goal opportunities, Davos also had a similarly bad spell. All attempts ended with almost flawless goalkeepers. Just when the Oceláři should have turned up the pressure and forced Davos into mistakes, the game began to unravel with a series of penalty sentences. This cost them valuable seconds, which they lacked especially at the end of the third period. Instead of the desired equalizer, Jan Märki confirmed the victory with a goal into an empty net one second before the end of regular time.
