Report

Another great and even hockey battle in the mini WERK ARENA. And Vítkovice was at it again. Those in the morning match were surprisingly not enough for the national team of Ukraine. In the early evening match, they finally had to bow to the power of Sparta Prague.

However, Sparta did not start well. Already in the fourth minute, Prague had to make it four because of Alex Marko's chopping. Sparta's defenders withstood Vítkovic's pressure and were rewarded for their efforts in the eighth minute. František Netušil slipped around the bar and quickly shot - 1:0. The subsequent pressure of the Spartans, enhanced by their power play, was stopped by the Ostrava goalkeeper Vávra. Emotions began to fly in the air, which resulted in a series of several expulsions for unhockey actions outside the rules. The 17th minute of the match brought an equalizing score. Ostravský Krpec put himself in a shot from the blue, which was stopped by the bar behind Tvrzník's back. However, Jiří Lerch quickly got the deflected puck into the goal.

The match started again. Even in the second act, the players did not compromise on the previous pace, which was additionally spiced up by frequent offences. When the Spartas Hašek was eliminated, the fastest skater of this year's President Cup - Jiří Doudera - was not mature enough for the goalkeeper Tvrzník. Only Matyáš Hanák was able to do it, finishing over one of the Spartan defenders. But Vítkovice's lean leadership did not last long. More precisely, 18 seconds before Tadeáš Trachta prevailed in a separate escape. Well, when Ben Adamec scored another goal for Prague from a jam in front of the goal, the second period ended in Sparta's favor.

Vítkovice definitely did not want to lose again. At the beginning of the third period, Ostrava had to go to four, but at the end of their weakening, Fasner escaped and leveled the game score again. The Spartans took the lead again after Daniel Jakab stopped Trachty's shot for Vávra - 4:3. Petr Poláček put the final score behind Sparta Prague's hard-fought victory in a game without a goalkeeper into an empty net a few seconds before the end of regular time.
