Report

The opening of the match was full of inaccuracies, perhaps caused by the early hour of the morning. At 9:25, a Slovan player headed to the penalty bench and the Slovak team offered Sparta a numerical advantage. Adam Marton converted it to the goal with a really hard shot from the area of the circle - 1:0. Moments later, Slovan also had numerical superiority on the ice, but it did not lead to the desired equalization.

In the opening 30th minutes came a lot of pressure from Sparta. First, František Netušil skilfully dribbled just in front of Henriquez, his attempt was stopped by the post. Little did he know, he immediately broke into another chance, which was blocked by Slovak defenders. The pressure in the offensive zone finally pay off, because at 30:09 Adam Dufek got to the puck and increased his team´s lead with successful shot.

The heated Spartan players attacked the opponent with even more vigor in the third act. Leonardo Henriquez in Slovan´s goal was terrific. The Slovakian goalkeeper had to look sadly behind him when he was first overtaken by Topol (41:08) and next David Hrubý (49:00), Daniel Novotný (50:15) and Adam Dvořák (51:53). Patrik Ruszynák was responsible for an honorable mention on the score sheet from the Bratislava players.
