Mini WERK ARENA also offered a dramatic match in its program. Vítkovice quickly took the lead in their match against the Ukrainian U17 national team when Matyáš Man ran past the Ukrainian goalkeeper at the end of Ukraine's power play - 1:0. However, the teenagers in yellow and blue were able to answer until the end of the third thanks to Oleksij Jevtiechov, he shot exactly to the post of Vilém's goal. The even score played on the nervous system of the players, and when the unprecedented emphasis of the Ukrainian representatives was added to that, a dense atmosphere reigned on the ice.

The representatives of Ukraine entered the second act better. After 139 seconds from the whistle, Oleksij Jevtiechov once again delighted the Ukrainian team with a precise end to a separate escape. Joy and then sadness reigned among the Ukrainians in the 39th minute, when the puck ended up in the net after a jam in front of the Vítkovic goal - but the referee decided not to recognize it as a violation of the rules.

The next score change came in the third part of the match. Ten seconds were enough in the third period for the Simčuk - Šulha duo to shake up the Vítkovice defense. The latter then tapped the puck behind the helpless Vilém. Although Vítkovice reduced it to one goal two minutes later, the Ukrainians kept their banner high. The hard-fighting under-17 representatives did not give Vítkovice many opportunities to equalize. On the contrary, Simčuk, who played brilliantly, gave Vilém a bad heat. After all, it was he who sent the puck into the empty goal of the Ostrava team 22 seconds before the final siren. Fifteen seconds before the end, Vítkovice still had an opportunity to score from a penalty shot, but Vojtěch Fojtík finished it inaccurately.
